Pinch the paper guide and slide it to the left.Load a sheet of blank paper in the paperrest. Slide the guide toward the left edgeof the paper.3PaperGuideUSB Ports:Top Port:USB 2.0Hi-SpeedUSB CableContinue with Step 6on side two.Bottom Port:USB 1.1NOTE: The printer will perform a printhead cleaning after the cover is closed.Paper RestPaper Output TrayclickInsert the ink tank into the correct slot.(Refer to the color guide on the print head holder.)Press down until the ink tank clicks into place.Electrical ContactsPrint Head NozzlesclickTURN THE PRINTER OFF.Connect one end of the USB cableto the computer, the other to theappropriate USB port on the printer.If your computer and operating systemsupport USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, use thetop port. Otherwise, use the bottom port.IMPORTANT: Be sure the printer isoff before continuing, or the computerwill attempt to install the printerdriver before the printer is ready.NOTE: The i960 Series Photo Printeris equipped with both USB 2.0 Hi-Speedand USB 1.1 ports. If you do not knowyour USB version number, connect usingthe lower port.Do not switch port after installation.Slide the print head into the holder.The print head will rest at a slight angle.Remove the print head from its package.Remove the orange protective capfrom the print head nozzles.NOTE: Do not touch the electrical contactsor the print head nozzles.Lower the lock lever and press it downuntil it clicks into place.Raise the lock lever on the printer.Tear at notch to openPlug the power cord into the back of theprinter and connect the other end to apower outlet.Open the front cover. The print head holderautomatically moves to the center. Removethe protective tape.Write down the serial number located tothe right of the print head holder. You willneed this later to register the product.Shipping TapePOWERLampPOWERButtonSerial NumberProtectiveTapePress the POWER button.
