To determine whether your computer supports USB 2.0Hi-Speed, refer to its manual or contact its manufacturer.• USB 2.0 Full Speed port (a lower USB port)Connect to this port when your computer or your cables do not support USB 2.0 Hi-Speed or when itis not clear whether they support it. Connect to this port when using a Macintosh computer.USB cableRecommendedUSB 2.0 Hi Speed: Certified USB Hi-Speed cable, up to 3 meters in length.USB 2.0 Full Speed: Canon or other computer manufacturer cable, up to 5 meters in length.• Correct operation of USB Hi-Speed 2.0 is not guaranteed under Windows Me, Windows 98, MacOS 8.6-9.x or Mac OS X.• If your computer has an earth connection, make sure that this is attached.• If you do not intend to use the printer for a long period of time, unplug the power cord from thepower outlet after turning off the printer.
