82Shooting with the AE LockYou can lock the exposure and shoot, or set the focus and exposureseparately to shoot.AE stands for “Auto Exposure”.1 Lock the exposure.● Point the camera toward the subject andpress the o button while pressing theshutter button halfway.X When & appears on the screen, theexposure will be locked.● If you release your finger from the shutterbutton and press the o button again, &will disappear and the AE will unlock.2 Compose the scene and shoot.Shooting with the FE LockJust as with the AE lock, you can lock the exposure for shooting with theflash.FE stands for “Flash Exposure”.1 Choose h (p. 67).2 Lock the flash exposure.● Point the camera toward the subject andpress the o button while pressing theshutter button halfway.X The flash will fire and when ( appears onthe screen, the flash output will be retained.● If you release your finger from the shutterbutton and press the o button again, ( willdisappear and the FE will unlock.3 Compose the scene and shoot.COPY
