The fan blows air toward theheatsink to cool the CPU. The fan is correctly oriented when the notches near the corners ofthe fan face away from the heatsink (see F04-406-02). The CPU fan cable connects to themotherboard at connector J27.F04-406-02 CPU fana. To Remove the CPU Fan1. Power off and open the iR-M1 as described on page 4-3 and page 4-4.2. Remove the CPU fan cable from iR-M1 board connector J27 (see F04-406-03).To remove the fan cable, gently pull the white connector from the pins.3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the four screws that secure the CPU fan to the CPUheatsink. Set aside the screws so that you can replace them later.F04-406-03 The CPU fan on the motherboard4.
