7.1.4 Tower assembly1. After installing the base and bottom tower section (Guy anchor installation (p. 21)), removethe bolt (two bolts for the UTBASE) from leg 1 and loosen the bolt in the other two legs(also removing one bolt from each leg for the UTBASE) so the bottom tower section is freeto hinge. Tilt the tower section to the ground and assemble the remaining tower sectionsby using the hardware provided with the tower. Each section is secured to the sectionbelow it with three bolts as shown in FIGURE 7-16 (p. 24). Route any cables from the uppersensors down the tower to where the enclosure will be mounted. Extend the mast to theheight appropriate for the application and tighten the mast.FIGURE 7-16. Attaching two mast sections2. Install the guy wires to the top of the tower (FIGURE 7-17 (p. 25)). Cut the 120 ft piece ofguy wire into three pieces; lengths will vary with slope. Attach the guy wires to the tower byusing two U-bolts for each guy wire.UT20 and UT30 Universal Towers 24 |
