Make sure the path isclear before opening or closingthe power liftgate.NOTICEMake sure that there are nooverhead obstructions (such asa garage door) in the way of theliftgate before you open it.Otherwise, the liftgate glasscould break and/or the liftgatecould be damaged.Your vehicle has a power liftgate.To operate the power liftgate, thefollowing conditions must be met:• The liftgate must be in thecompletely open orcompletely closed position.• The liftglass must be closedand latched.• The transmission must be inP (Park).If the transmission is movedout of P (Park) while theliftgate is moving, the liftgatewill continue to open or close.If you begin to drive before theliftgate is completely closed,the liftgate may stop andreverse direction to the fullopen position.Do not drive with the liftgateopen.To use this feature, do any of thefollowing:• Press and hold the liftgatebutton on the remote keylessentry transmitter until theliftgate begins to open or close.If you press the button againwhile the liftgate is in motion,the liftgate will reversedirection.If the liftgate button is pressedwhile the power liftgate isdisabled, the lights will flash toindicate that the power featureis inactive.See "Remote Keyless Entry" inSection 3 for more information.$10araEscalade.fm Page 152 Wednesday, October 14, 2009 9:52 AM
