See "PowerLiftgate" for more information.The REAR ACCESS OPEN (rearaccess open) message will appearin the Driver Information Centerwhen the liftgate or liftglass is notcompletely closed.A chime will also sound and theinterior lights will turn on.See "Driver Information CenterMessages" earlier in this section formore information.Liftgate/LiftglassTo operate the liftgate manually,the following conditions must bemet:• The transmission must be inP (Park).• The rear wiper must be off.If you attempt to open theliftgate or liftglass with the rearwiper on, the liftgate or liftglasswill not open until the rearwiper has been turned off.If the vehicle's doors are unlockedusing a power door lock switchor the remote keyless entrytransmitter, then the liftgate andliftglass will also be unlocked.Note:If you press the power liftgatebutton on the keyless entrytransmitter when the vehicle islocked, the liftgate will open. Allother doors will remain locked.Press the power liftgate buttonagain to close the liftgate.
