If cabinet storage is tobe provided, the risk can be reduced by installing a hoodthat projects horizontally a minimum of 5" (12.7 cm) beyondthe bottom of the cabinet.Verify that cabinets above the cooktop are a maximum of13" (330 mm) deep.Child SafetyDo not store items of interest to children in the cabinetsabove the range or on the backguard of a range. Childrenclimbing on the range to reach items could be seriouslyinjured.Electric SafetyBefore you plug in an electrical cord, be sure all controlsare in the OFF position.Be sure your appliance is properly installed and groundedby a qualified technician in accordance with the NationalElectrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70 latest edition and localelectrical code requirements.Local codes vary. Installation, electrical connections andgrounding must comply with all applicable codes.For appliances equipped with a cord and plug, do not cut orremove the ground prong. It must be plugged into amatching grounding type receptacle to avoid electricalshock. If there is any doubt as to whether the wallreceptacle is properly grounded, the customer should haveit checked by a qualified electrician.If required by the National Electrical Code (or CanadianElectrical Code), this appliance must be installed on aseparate branch circuit.Only a power supply cord kit rated for this appliance andmarked "for use with ranges" shall be used.Installer - show the owner the location of the circuitbreaker or fuse.
