UHA S TANDARD U NIT H EATER I NSTALLATION O PERATION AND SERVICE MANUAL20 of 59SECTION 10: WIRINGDANGERElectrical Shock HazardDisconnect electric before service.More than one disconnect switch may berequired to disconnect electric fromequipment.Equipment must be properly grounded.Failure to follow these instructions can resultin death or electrical shock. All heater models require constant 120 V / 1Ø / 60Hz power supply. Check heater serial plate forelectrical rating for proper circuit sizing. Forservicing, a disconnect switch of proper electricalrating should be installed in the vicinity of the heater. All heaters are equipped with thermostatconnections suitable to power a 24 V thermostat.Heater must be wired and electrically grounded inaccordance with local codes. In the absence of localcodes in accordance with: United States: refer toNational Electrical Code® NFPA 70 - latest revisionCanada: refer to Canadian Electrical Code CSAC22.1 Part I - latest revision.10.1 Positioning ThermostatsA room thermostat should be mounted on avibration-free wall or column at a height ofapproximately 5' (1.5 m) from the floor to measurethe ambient temperature. It should be clear of bothcold drafts and the direct path of warm air from theheater.Avoid mounting thermostat on outside walls or inareas directly exposed to radiant heat or sunlight.Install wall tag in a visible location near thermostat.See Page 4, Section 2.1 for wall tag details.10.1.1 Fan ControlThe heater’s axial fan can be used during the off-season for air circulation. A low voltageprogrammable thermostat with fan switch (P/N90425400) must be used. For thermostatconnection details See Page 21, Section 10.2.
