This feature turns off thevideo display and shuts down the hard disk after a period of inactivity.Power Management [User Define]This option must be enabled to use any of the automatic power saving features. Ifthis menu item is set to [Disabled], power management features will not functionregardless of other field settings on this menu. The [User Define] option allows youto make your own selections in the Power menu. When set to [Max Saving], systempower will be conserved to its greatest amount. The Suspend Mode field will thenbe set to predefined value that ensures maximum power savings.This field acts as the master control for the power management modes. [Max Sav-ing] puts the system into power saving mode after a brief period of system inactiv-ity; [Min Saving] is almost the same as [Max Saving] except that the system inactiv-ity period is longer; [Disabled] disables the power saving features; [User Define]allows you to set power saving options according to your preference. Configurationoptions: [User Define] [Disabled] [Min Saving] [Max Saving]IMPORTANT: Advanced Power Management (APM) should be installed to keepthe system time updated when the computer enters suspend mode activated bythe BIOS Power Management. For DOS environments, you need to add thestatement, DEVICE=C:\DOS\POWER.EXE, to your CONFIG.SYS file. ForWindows 3.x and Windows 95, you need to install Windows with the APMfeature. For Windows 98 and later, APM is automatically installed. A batteryand power cord icon labeled “Power Management” will appear in the “ControlPanel.” Choose “Advanced” in the Power Management Properties dialog box.
