6Selecting the active transducer (AUET/MTM models only)1. Rotating the Transducer Selection knob (Fig 2.) will select the active transducer.2. All functions of the AUET system outlined below will pertain to the active transducer only3. Active transducer will be shown by an illuminated LED lamp adjacent to the active built in transducer orno LED lamp visible when using a transducer connected to the external port,4. Built-in transducers are preset and are ready for use immediately upon selection. External transducersrequire setup and an additional cable (optional accessory). (See page 17)Charging the Auditor AUET Desktop Torque Tester1. Plug the 100 – 240 VAC Charger into DC Power Supply port (Figure 2)2. Plug the Charger into a 100 – 240 VAC power outlet using the appropriate plug end.3. Press the “Off” button on the front panel (Figure 1)4. The Charging Mode Indicator LED (Green, next to “ON” button) should begin to flash green.symbol will be displayed on the Main Display screen if the unit is turned on.5. When the AUET is fully charged the LED will stop flashing6. The AUET can be used as normal in AC mode with the charger connected.7. When the AUET is being used in DC mode (Battery) and the battery charge is becoming low, thesymbol (low battery) will show on the Main Display screen. The 100-240VAC Charger should beplugged into the unit immediately to continue uninterrupted operation.Basic Navigation and Use of the KeypadMany functions of the Auditor AUET Desktop Torque Tester can be accessed by using the button directly belowthe associated text on the display screen. For example, if the following screen were displayed:the LEFT SELECTION BUTTON, which is directly below the MENU text field, would allow the user to access theMENU features.At anytime during use, pressing the ENTER button (Figure 1) will allow the user to back up by one screen. Pressingthe ENTER button enough times will always take the user back to the main display screen.A full diagram of the AUET menu structure is shown in Appendix A.Turning On / OffTo turn the AUET on, press the “ON” button (Figure 1)The AIMCO logo will be displayed for approximately 4 seconds followed by the following display:To turn the AUET off, simply press the “OFF” button.Preparing the AUET for UseThe AUET testers feature a supplied Joint Simulator (Fig. A) that is configurable to a wide variety of joint conditions.The Joint Simulator is made up of a series of Beville Washers that allow the user to pre-configure the joint to matchthe actual application joint as closely as possible.
