Park the vehicle on a level surface, and set theparking brake.2. Pull the hood release handle under the lower leftcorner of the dashboard.3. Push up the hood latch lever in the center of thehood to release the lock mechanism, and openthe hood.4. Lift the hood up about halfway. The hydraulicsupports will continue to lift and hold it up.When closing, lower the hood to approximately12 inches (30 cm), then press down firmly withyour hands.Hood release handlePullLeverEngine Compartment CoverCertain parts in the engine compartment areprotected by a cover. You may need to remove thecover when you perform certain maintenance work.Pull up on the engine cover, and remove it fromthe pins. Start on the passenger’s side and lift theoutermost edge of the cover. Move towards thedriver side while applying uniform upward pressure.Do not open the hood when the wiper arms are raised. The hood will strike thewipers, and may damage either the hood or the wipers. Do not open the hoodduring auto idle stop operation.*NOTICE*if equipped
