Do not use afterthe expiration date listed on top of carton. Do not freeze reagents.Do not use if reagents have been previously frozen. Reagents arestable for 26 weeks after opening, if stored at optimum conditions.Allow your reagent pack to equilibrate to room temperature for 24 hoursprior to use to prevent the formation of micro-bubbles that may affectyour results.CHANGING THE REAGENT PACKBefore changing the reagent pack, be sure to read the instructionscarefully. You will need the following:Distilled water (approximately 100-200 mls, orabout 1 cup) – do not use tap water5 ml of household bleach(approximately 5-6% hypochlorite)HM5 cleaning tubeHM5 reagent packTwo clean containers/cups to hold the waterand bleachHM5 Normal control (Abaxis part no. 770-9029)Prepare a 1:20 dilution of bleach.1.Mix 5 ml household bleach with 95 ml ofa.distilled water.Perform a bleach cleaning (2. Utilities menu ,Maintenance – Bleaching), see HM5 User’sManual, section 7.3 for details.Reconnect the reagent tubing to the analyzer.3.Unscrew the reagent caps from the old reagent4.pack. Connect them to the new reagent bottles.NOTE: Take care not to touch the drop downtubing (tubing that is inside the bottles) or thereagents may become contaminated. Be sureto match the correct caps to the color-matchedbottles.Press5. New for new reagent pack.The software will ask if you are changing thea.reagent pack, or using an old one.Prime the reagent lines: follow the menus below:6.Utilitiesa. key – Maintenance – Priming – PrimeAllReset the Reagent Status: follow the menus7.below:Utilitiesa. key – Maintenance – Reagent StatusPressb. Change and the settings will be reset to100%. Press Accept.If you have moved the reagent pack’s location8.from the previous pack’s location, you will need toreset the reagent sensors.
