238 Model 9480i CT IP Phone User GuideAdditional Features Preferred Line and Preferred Line TimeoutThe 9480i CT has a feature called “preferred line” and “preferred line timeout”. If you enablethe preferred line parameter on your phone, after a call ends (incoming or outgoing), the displayswitches back to the preferred line. Next time you go off-hook to make another call, you pickupon the preferred line. You can enable the preferred line parameter using the Aastra Web UI atthe location, Basic Settings->Preferences->General. You can also set a preferred timeoutparameter that specifies the number of seconds it takes for the phone to switch back to thepreferred line.The following table provides the behavior of the preferred line focus feature with other featureson the phone.Note: You can configure “Preferred Line” and “Preferred Line Timeout” usingthe Aastra Web UI only.Phone Feature Preferred Line Behaviorcall return The phone switches back to the focused line immediately afterthe call ends.speeddial The line is already specified when the speeddial is created.
