Positioning the CookerThe diagrams show the minimum recommended distancefrom the cooker to nearby surfaces. The hotplate surround should be level with, or above, anyadjacent work surface. Above hotplate level a gap of60mm should be left between each side of the cooker andany adjacent vertical surface. For non-combustible surfaces (such as unpainted metal orceramic tiles) this can be reduced to 25mm.A minimum space of 650mm is required between the topof the hotplate and a horizontal combustible surface.Any cooker hood should be installed in accordance withthe hood manufacturer’s instructions.Surfaces of furniture and walls at the sides and rear of theappliance should be heat, splash and steam resistant.Certain types of vinyl or laminate kitchen furniture areparticularly prone to heat damage and discolouration. Wecannot accept responsibility for damage caused by normaluse of the cooker to any material that de-laminates ordiscolours at temperatures less than 65ºC above roomtemperature. For safety reasons curtains must not be fitted immediatelybehind the cooker. We recommend a gap of 1006mm between units to allowfor moving the cooker. Do not box the cooker in; it must bepossible to move the cooker in and out for cleaning andservicing. The cooker should not be placed on a base.Unpacking the CookerDo not take any packaging off the cooker until it is directlyin front of the place it is to be installed (unless it will not fitthrough a door in its outer packaging).LevellingThe Masterchef is designed to stand on a flat and levelsurface, however any unevenness may be overcome byadjusting the four mobility wheels, one at each corner ofthe base plate. The adjusting screws are accessed byremoving the plinth (two screws). To raise the cooker turn screw clockwise, to lower turnscrew anti-clockwise.30
