ACR Systems Inc.Figure 5-1: 20 mA Current WiringFigure 5-2A6.3 Choosing TransmittersA transmitter is a term usually reserved for transducers in a current loop circuit. A transducer is adevice that receives energy from one system and retransmits it, in a different form, to another system. For a transmitter to be useful, the signal must be compatible with standard instrumentation. This isanalog DC current for the OWL 20mA Current logger. Many compatible transmitters exist for measuring such variables as temperature, relative humidity, pressure, current, voltage, wind speed, pH and more. These can be obtained from many manufacturesand distributors. To figure out what to look for when choosing transmitters, it is helpful to know a few technical termsassociated with current loops.
