Installing the LWT 23WARNINGThe terminal block needs to be replaced if the installation shows any sign of damageresulting from direct or indirect lightning discharges. Call ABB in such situations.Bringing power to the instrumentELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGESElectronic components are sensitive to electrostatic discharges. Before performing any connection, operators shall make sure that they have dischargedall static electricity from their body before touching electronic components.—Figure 13 Typical LWT connectionWARNINGAll connections must be established in a de-energized state. Before working on thecircuit, secure the breaker to prevent any accidental power-up.In an explosion proof/flameproof installation, do not remove the covers while theinstrument is energized. To bring power to the LWT instrument:1 Remove the temporary plastic cap from the most convenient of the two electrical connection ports(see Figure 14 on page 24).WARNINGIn the particular case of explosion proof installations, remove the temporary plasticcaps and close the unused opening with a cap certified and appropriately rated forexplosion containment.2 Make sure that the M4 hex head locking screws are screwed in (see Figure 8).3 Remove the housing cover on the “terminals” side (see Figure 14 on page 24).
