30 OI/266/FF-EN Rev. B | 2600T Series Pressure transmitters7 Transmitter wiring7. Transmitter wiringWarning - General risk. Observe the applicable regulationsgoverning electrical installation. Connections must only beestablished in a dead-voltage state. Since the transmitter has noswitch-off elements, overvoltage protection devices, lightningprotection, and voltage separation capacity must be provided atthe plant (overvoltage/lightning protection is optional). Check thatthe existing operating voltage corresponds to the voltage indicatedon the name plate. The same lines are used for both the powersupply and output signal. In case the surge protection option ispresent and the transmitter is installed in a Hazardous area, thetransmitter has to be power supplied from a voltage source isolatedfrom mains (galvanic separation). Furthermore the potentialequalization for the entire powering cable must be guaranteedsince the intrinsic safety circuit of the transmitter is grounded.Warning - General risk. Electrical shock can result in death orserious injury. Avoid contact with the leads and terminals.High voltage that may be present on leads can causeelectrical shock.Warning - General risk. Do NOT make electrical connectionsunless the electrical code designation stamped on thetransmitter data plate agrees with the classification of the areain which the transmitter is to be installed. Failure to complywith this warning can result in fire or explosion.7.1 Cable connectionDepending on the design supplied, the electrical connection isestablished via a cable entry, M20 x 1.5 or 1/2-14 NPT thread,or Han 8D plug (8U) (PROFIBUS PA and FOUNDATIONFieldbus: M12 x 1 or 7/8 plug). The screw terminals are suitablefor wire cross sections of up to 2.5 mm2 (AWG 14).Important. With Category 3 transmitters for use in “Zone 2”, aqualified cable gland for this type of protection must be installed bythe customer (see the section “Hazardous Area Consideration”). AnM20 x 1.5 threads is located in the electronics housing for thispurpose. For transmitters with “Flameproof enclosure” (Ex d) type ofprotection, the housing cover must be secured using the lockingscrew. The screw plug that may have been supplied with the transmittermust be sealed at the plant using Molykote DX.The installer assumes responsibility for any other type of sealingmedium used.At this point, we wish to draw your attention to the fact thatincreased force will be required to unscrew the housing cover afteran interval of several weeks. This is not caused by the threads, butinstead is due solely to the type of gasket.7.2 FOUNDATION Fieldbus wiringThe 2600T-266 PdP FF is a Bus Powered device with FieldbusFoundation output. The two wires of the bus have to beconnected as in the picture.Important. The 266 PdP FF is not Polarity SensitiveFigure 36: 266 Tx with FOUNDATION Fieldbus terminal block
