34 CHAPTER 3: S ETTING UP FOR MANAGEMENTViewingAutomaticallyConfigured IPInformationIf you allow the switch to automatically configure its own IP information you needto discover and view the IP information before you can begin to manage theswitch. You can discover the IP information using:■ Connecting to the Console PortConnect a workstation using a console cable to the console port of the switch. You can then view the IP information automatically assigned to the switchusing the command line interface (CLI).■ Network Director or 3Com Network SupervisorThese applications will auto-discover the switch and display the automaticallyallocated IP information assigned to the switch.■ Reviewing information in your DHCP ServerThe DHCP server in your network may log IP address assignments. Reviewingthis log, you may be able to determine the device's IP address.
