7Selecting/Preparing a Counter Location1. Select a level, well ventilated location that is in closeproximity to a properly grounded electrical outlet, within five(5) feet (1.5 m) of a drain, a water supply that meets therequirements shown in the Specifications section found onpages 4-6, away from direct sunlight or overhead lighting,and has sufficient clearance for air circulation.2. Sufficient clearance must be provided, if an ice maker is notinstalled, to allow filling ice compartment from a five gallonbucket (a minimum of 16 inches is recommended).Lancer does NOT recommend the use of shaved orflake ice in the dispenser.NOTEFill unit with ice only with merchandiser intact.NOTEThe dispenser should only be installed in a locationwhere it can be overseen by trained personnelNOTE4. Unit may be installed directly on countertop or on legs. Ifinstalled directly on the counter, unit must be sealed to thecountertop with an FDA approved sealant. If an icemaker isto be mounted on top of dispenser, do not install dispenseron legs.5. Select a location for the remote pump deck, remote syruppumps, remote flavor shot syrup pumps (if necessary), CO2tank, syrup containers, and water filter (recommended).Please see General System Overview on page 5 forreference.6. Using Counter Cutout Template provided, cut out requiredopening for the water, syrup, and CO2 lines in the designateddispenser location.In order to facilitate proper dispenser drainage, ensurethat the dispenser is level, front to back and side toside. Place a level on the top of the rear edge of thedispenser. The bubble must settle between the levellines. Repeat this procedure for the remaining threesides. Level unit if necessary. For optimumperformance place the unit at a 0° tilt. The maximumtilt is 5°.Leveling the Dispenser:3. The selected location should be able to support the weight ofthe dispenser, ice and possibly an icemaker being installedafter counter cut out is made. Total weight (with icemaker) forthis unit could exceed 800 pounds (363.6kg).Installing an Icemaker (if necessary)When installing an icemaker on the dispenser, use abin thermostat to control the ice level (see below). Thiswill prevent damage to the dispensing mechanism. Thebracket for mounting a thermostat is located in the icebin. During the automatic agitation cycle and whiledispensing ice, ensure there is adequate spacebetween the top of the ice level and the bottom of theicemaker so the ice can move without obstruction.Contact your icemaker manufacturer for information ona suitable bin thermostat.! ATTENTION1. Install the icemaker per manufacturer specifications. Pointsof consideration include drainage, ventilation, and dropzones.2. An adapter plate is required when installing an icemaker.Contact your Sales Representative or Lancer CustomerService for more information.3. A bin thermostat is required in order to control the level ofice in the dispenser (Refer to ATTENTION). Contact youricemaker manufacturer to obtain the correct bin thermostat.Failure to use an ice bin thermostat will not only voidyour IBD’s warranty but will result in the inability tocontrol the level of ice in the ice bin which can causedamage to your dispenser.! ATTENTION4. Bin thermostat should be a minimum of 2” below the topedge of the dispenser. The preferred location of the binthermostat is on the left side wall.5. Ensure the icemaker is installed properly to allow for removalof the Merchandiser.6. Ensure manual fill is accessible.7.
