The ACI BACnet MS/TP /Modbus RTUDuct Series sensor can be ordered to monitortemperature, RH, or temp/RH in commercial HVACductwork. It uses BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU forphysical connection to a BAS or controller, has dipswitches to set addresses and baud rate, parity andstop bits (Modbus RTU only) and has on boardend-of-line termination. There is no analog output.WIRING INSTRUCTIONSThe BACnet/Modbus Duct Series temperaturesensor has a depluggable terminal block located onthe front of the PCB. For ease of wiring, werecommend removing the block, wiring, andreattaching before mounting. 16 to 22 AWG twoconductor shielded cable is recommended forpowering the sensors.ACI recommends using Belden 3105 or compatiblecable for RS-485 communication wiring. This wire has120 ohm input impendence. The terminal blocksallow for (1) or (2) wires to be connected in eachposition for daisy chaining. Daisy chain the RS-485wiring and do not use “Star” or “T” wiring. Avoidrunning communication wires next to AC line voltagewires. These can be sources of noise that can affectsignal quality.PRECAUTIONS• Remove power before wiring. Never connector disconnect wiring with power applied.• It is recommended you use an isolatedUL-listed class 2 transformer when poweringthe unit with 24 VAC.
