Direct Access Keys Media Menu / Primary Card35Primary Card MenuThe primary compact flash menu is where the parameters of the primary record cardare adjusted from.The Primary card will record the files as MARF files - Mobile Audio Recording Format.MARF, is Zaxcom’s lossless fault tolerant recording system. MARF is a very robustsystem where the files never need to be closed or finalized. So if power is lost duringrecording, all audio right up to the point the power is lost will be preserved. MARF isoften immune from viruses and corruption that can affect standard recordingformats. MARF files can be easily be converted to WAV or MP3 files using ZaxConvert.The latest version of ZaxConvert can be downloaded for free at www.zaxcom.com.Choose Primary FolderAll files are recorded into folders. The record folder is chosen from this menu. To select a folder scroll theMENU knob to highlight the desired folder then press the MENU knob to select the folder. At that point agreen check will appear, the green check will indicate the folder that will be recorded to.The folder can be named for easy identification. Please note while a named folder can have up to 19characters only the first 9 will be shown in the folder list.Delete Last SegmentDelete last segment will delete the last recorded segment. The segment number and the folder nameof the file that will be deleted will be displayed on the screen.To delete the segment press the STAR key. Or press the BACK key to ignore and exit.Erase Current FolderErase current folder erases the entire contents of the selected folder from the compact flash card. Thefolder that will be deleted will be displayed on the screen.To delete the segment press the STAR key. Or press the BACK key to ignore and exit.WARNING: If a folder has been mirrored, remove the mirror card before erasing. If not, the folderwill be erased from both the primary and mirror card.Format Primary CardThis is where the primary CF card is formatted. To start the format process press the STAR key. Novawill then display a screen to confirm that the primary card is about to be formatted and will wait untilthe STAR key is pressed again to format. Pressing the BACK key will ignore the format and exit theformat menu. After the primary card is formatted Nova will need to be rebooted. |
