46SERVICINGInstallation and Servicing55 SAFETY RELIEF VALVE REPLACEMENT1. Refer to Frame 41.2. Drain the boiler. Refer to Frame 53.3. Remove the clip on return thermistor. Referto frame 45.4. Pull out and remove the clip (positionedbehind the safety valve) retaining the safetyvalve.5. Undo the safety valve pipe compressionfitting positioned outside the boiler casing.6. Lift out the safety valve/pipe assembly.7. Remove the safety valve pipe and transferto the new safety valve.8. Reassemble in reverse order ensuring theretaining clip is correctly fitted, the pipecompression fitting retightened and returnthermistor is re-clipped.9. Refill the boiler. Check operation of theboiler. Refer to Frames 30 & 31.1. Refer to Frame 41.2. Drain the heating system. Refer toFrame 53.3. Unscrew the pressure gauge anddiscard.4. Fit new pressure gauge, using suitablejointing compound.5. Refill the boiler. Refer to Frame 23.6. Check operation of the boiler. Refer toFrames 30 & 31.54 PRESSURE GAUGE REPLACEMENT56 PUMP AUTOMATIC AIR VENT REPLACEMENT1. Refer to Frame 41.2. Drain the boiler. Refer to Frame 53.3. Remove the expansion vessel. Refer to Frame 61.4. Firstly, increase access area by disconnecting the 22mm pipeconnection at top of pump chamber and bottom of heat exchanger andremove pipe.5. The automatic air vent head is retained in the pump body with abayonet connection. The air vent head and float assembly is removedby turning the head anti-clockwise (viewed from above) and pullingupwards.6. Reassembly is the reverse of the above. Ensure the air vent head ‘o’ring seal is in place when refitting and the new ‘o’ ring is fitted to thereturn pipe top connection.7. Ensure the air vent cap is loose.8. Refill the boiler. Refer to Frame 23. Check for leaks around the new airvent joint.9. Check the operation of the boiler. Refer to Frames 30 & 31.5Dust Cap3 4SERVICING |
