PRECAUTIONSPLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDINGPlease keep this manual in a safe and handy place for future reference.WARNINGAlways follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of serious injury or evendeath from electrical shock, short-circuiting, damages, fire or other hazards. These precautionsinclude, but are not limited to, the following:• Do not place the power cord near heat sources such asheaters or radiators. Also, do not excessively bend orotherwise damage the cord, or place heavy objects onit.• Only use the voltage specified as correct for thespeaker. The required voltage is printed on the nameplate of the speaker.• Use only the supplied power cord/plug for the speaker.• Check the electric plug periodically and remove anydirt or dust which may have accumulated on it.• This speaker contains no user-serviceable parts. Donot open the speaker or attempt to disassemble ormodify the internal components in any way. If it shouldappear to be malfunctioning, discontinue useimmediately and have it inspected by qualified Yamahaservice personnel.• Do not expose the speaker to rain, use it near water orin damp or wet conditions, or place on it any containers(such as vases, bottles or glasses) containing liquidswhich might spill into any openings. If any liquid suchas water seeps into the speaker, turn off the powerimmediately and unplug the power cord from the ACoutlet. Then have the speaker inspected by qualifiedYamaha service personnel.• Never insert or remove an electric plug with wet hands.• Do not put burning items, such as candles, on the unit.A burning item may fall over and cause a fire.• When one of the following problems occur, immediatelyturn off the power switch and disconnect the electricplug from the outlet.
