4111 Maintenance and InspectionWARNING• Before maintenance or inspection, or wiring, be sure to turn OFF the switch in the primary sideswitch gear and put up a warning sign. (ex. DO NOT TURN THE POWER ON.)Failure to observe this warnig may result in electric shock or injury.• For internal inspection immediately after using the welder, the capacitor in the power supply maybe charged. Wait for approx. five minutes and remove the cover for inspection.Failure to observe this warnig may result in electric shock or injury.CAUTION• Maintenance and inspection must be performed by specified personnel.Failure to observe this caution may result in electric shock or injury.Perform periodical maintenance and inspection for safe and efficient operatoins of thewelder.Remove connectors MX2, MX3, and MX11 from the printed board (MX), connector MD1 from theprinted board (MD5), and output plus terminal R40 (2W10k) before performing the withstand voltagetest. If they are not removed and voltage is applied, the parts are destroyed. After completion ofthe test, reconnect them properly. These printed boards (MX) and (MD5) are mounted on thecompartment barrier. R40 can be removed by using a FASTIN-FASTON terminal (trademark ofAMP Inc.).■ Daily Inspection ItemsCheck the following:• The switches operate without fail.• The cooling fan rotates smoothly by turning ON/OFF the power supply switch andexhausts the air from the rear face.• There is no abnormal vibration, beat, or odor. There is no leakage of cooling water or gas.• The cable connecting section is not excessively heated.• The welding cable and its connecting section is not excessively heated.• There is no part where the connection cable is damaged, resulting in imperfectinsulation.Note: Insulation resistance between the torch electrode and the basemetal must exceed 20 MΩ.• Each connecting section is tightened securely.• Water flows when the water cooled torch is used.IMPORTANT
