J1000 CHEAT SHEETOVERVIEWThe followingprocedure is asupplement to otherdocumentationsupplied with thisequipment and willguide the user inproperly wiring theJ1000 and motor. Itwill also allow theinstaller to checkmotor direction andcorrect if necessary.Danger: Improperwiring can and willcause bodily harmas well as damageto the equipmentWhen installing thesystem be sure tofollow good wiringpractices and allapplicable codes.Ensure that themounting of thevarious componentsare secure and thatthe environment, such as extremedampness, poorventilation etc. willnot cause systemdegradation. Please read thissheet and theQuick Start Guide(TOEPC71060626)provided with theJ1000 thoroughlybefore attemptingany installation.CHEAT SHEETTo make sure you received the correct model it is essentialto verify the J1000 nameplate with your order; and makesure that the drive has the correct rating so it can be usedwith your motor. Please check the nameplate informationas shown in the example below.· Check that the available power meets the input powerrequirements.· Ensure that the output power from the VFD iscompatible with the motor requirements.Mounting the J1000The mounting of the J1000 is extremely important regardingenvironment and accessibility. Depending on your system, there are various models available and therefore themounting dimensions (footprint) may be different. Becausethe mounting procedure is fairly extensive, it is beyond thescope of this document, the user is referred to the J1000Quick Start Guide (Manual No. TOEPC71060626) receivedwith the J1000, Section 2 Mechanical Installation. Matchup the model that you received and follow the proceduredescribed in the manual to ensure a safe and functionalinstallation. In the case where the system has more than oneJ1000 refer to the proper clearances required for adequateventilation. Please pay particular attention to:· The clearances to be maintained around the enclosurefor adequate ventilation.· The environmental specifications such as avoidingexcessive dampness, extreme temperatures, chemicalexposure, corrosive areas etc. to avoid damage to theequipment and to maintain safety.Removing Protective CoversImproper removal of the J1000 front cover and terminalcover can cause extensive damage to the J1000. To avoiddamage to these items, please pay particular attention to theJ1000 Quick Start Guide, Section 3.5, Protective Covers.· In the case of systems with multiple VFDs follow thisprocedure for each VFD and motor connected.IP20 / Open ChassisRemove the Front CoverRemove the Terminal CoverU/T1 V/T2 W/T33Ø Inductionmotor1Ø InputPowerConnectframe togroundInputProtection(Fuse or C.B.)To change direction ofmotor rotation swap anytwo of the three motorleads (See Step 2)L1 L2Fig. 1: Input Power and Output Motor ElectricalConnections for Single Phase Input J1000WARNING DO NOT CONNECT ANY OF THEFOLLOWING TERMINALS TO EARTH GROUNDSINGLE PHASEINPUT J1000(R/L1) (S/L2) (U/T1) (V/T2)Connect tochassisgroundFig.1 & 2 below show the electrical connections for theinput power and motor terminals for various J1000 DriveModels.
