EN32 33General MaintenanceTo maintain the measurement performance of your i1Pro 3 over its life time, it isimportant to observe some rules and to periodically clean certain parts that are criticalfor measurement performance. A clean white tile and protective glass are absolutelycritical for measurement accuracy.• The i1Pro 3 device is sensitive to mechanical shocks. To avoid damage duringtransport the i1Pro 3 must be always shipped in its original packaging.• Do not store or operate the i1Pro 3 device in dirty, greasy or dusty environments.Do not use the i1Pro 3 in environments with temperatures higher than 35°C(95ºF) or less than 10°C (50ºF). Do not store the i1Pro 3 in environments withtemperatures higher than 50°C (122ºF) or less than -10°C (14ºF).The plastichousing of the device may be cleaned using a cloth dampened in water with asoap solution if necessary.• The protection glass in the limiting aperture of the i1Pro 3 device may becomedusty after some time. You can remove the protective glass to clean it and theinside of the limiting aperture:1. Turn the limiting aperture counter-clockwise until the arrow points to the“unlocked” position on the i1Pro 3 device.2. Remove the limiting aperture from the device. Avoid touching the optics.3. Remove the protection glass from the aperture by rotating counter-clockwiseuntil the recessed arrow inside the protective glass points to the "unlocked"icon.4. Clean both sides of the protection glass and the inside of the limiting aperturewith isopropyl alcohol on a soft clean cloth. This same cleaning methodapplies to the optional polarization filter.5. Re-assemble the protection glass in the limiting aperture by rotating itclockwise until it stops (arrow pointing to the "locked" icon).6. Mount the limiting aperture back on the device with the arrow pointing at the“unlocked” position on the i1Pro 3 device.7. To lock the limiting aperture turn it clockwise until the arrow points to the“locked” position on the i1Pro 3 device.• Keep the white reference ceramic tile clean at all times. You can clean the whitereference ceramic tile with isopropyl alcohol on a soft clean cloth if required.• Do not touch the diffuser disc of the ambient light measuring head. If necessary,clean it with compressed air or isopropyl alcohol.• The guide ruler including the "zebra stripe" can be cleaned with isopropyl alcoholwhen required.123
