432 5 6 7149 108 1311 12The trimmer you purchased may not have all of these heads, butthey will all work with your trimmer if you wish to purchase them. Self-sharpening blades are high compression, high-carbonsteel, made to maintain their shape and sharpness for extendedperiods.TRIMMING AND EDGING YOUR BEARDThe following are suggested trimming steps and trimmer positions.You may find different procedures work better for you.1. Comb your beard in the direction that it grows to help revealstray hairs that may be longer than the others.2. Attach the 6-position trimming guide to trim and taper yourbeard. Begin with the guide set at a long trimming length. Trimtoward your chin in smooth, overlapping strokes, following the layof your beard. If you trim against the way your beard naturally lays,the trimmer will cut the hair much shorter and the result may bepatchy.Adjust the trimming guide to progressivelyshorter settings until you reach the desiredlength of beard. You may wish to set thetrimming guide attachment to cut closernear the ear and down under the chin,changing to a longer setting toward thefront of the face and point of your chin.When the trimming guide is removed, itwill remain at its last length setting untilyou change it.Always be sure the trimming guide isCARING FOR YOUR TRIMMEROILING BLADESFor best results, put one or two drops of Wahl Clipper Oil onthe blades only when necessary, or approximately once a month.Motor bearings are permanently lubricated—do not attempt to oil.When oiling your trimmer, turn the trimmer “ON - I,” hold the unitwith the blades facing DOWN and squeeze one or two drops of oilonto the blades. Wipe off excess oil with soft cloth.NOTICE—DO NOT OVER OIL!Excessive oiling or application of liquids will cause damage ifallowed to seep back into motor.BLADE CARETrimmer blades have precision-hardened, ground and lappedcutting teeth. Blades should be handled carefully and neverbumped or used to cut dirty or abrasive material. Never rinse theblades with water, or the blades may rust. Clean with the includedbrush.CLEANING/STORAGEBefore storing your trimmer, use the cleaning brush to whiskany loose hairs from the unit and the blades. Store unit in such amanner so that blades are protected from damage.When the trimmer is not in use, the trimmer guide/bladeguard attachment should be in place to protect the blades.This appliance should be stored in a manner where it isnot subjected to Crushing, Heating above 100°C (212°F),or Incineration.SPECIAL FEATURES:Your trimmer has been designed with several advancedfeatures to help you get perfect results every time youtrim. Your trimmer may be used to neatly trim goatees,beards, mustaches, neckline, sideburns around the earstrimmer is turned “OFF - 0.”4. If your electricity is connected to a master power switch, wesuggest the trimmer be disconnected from the charger anytimethe master switch is off. Leaving the unit plugged into a deadoutlet or an unplugged charger will drain the battery.5. If trimmer does not run and it is completely charged, turn the unit“ON - I” and pinch or push the blades manually. (Oil may havedried out between the blades, so they may be temporarily stucktogether.)LITHIUM-ION BATTERYREPLACEMENT, CLIPPERDISPOSAL AND RECYCLING:• For battery replacement send the entire, intact clipper unit to: WahlAnnex 3001 North Locust, P.O. Lithium-Ion batteries canexplode, catch fire, and/or cause burns if disassembled, damaged, orexposed to water or high temperatures.• If you choose not to replace the battery, the entire, intact clipper unitmust be disposed. Do not attempt to remove the battery for disposal.Lithium-Ion batteries may be subject to local disposal regulations.Many locations prohibit disposal in standard waste receptacles.Check your local laws and regulations.• For recycling contact a government recycling agency, wastedisposal service, retailer, or visit online recycling sources, such aswww.batteryrecycling.com or www.rbrc.org.TRAVEL PLUGThe travel plug is used to prevent the trimmerfrom accidentally powering on when traveling.When the travel plug is engaged, the powerbutton will not function.TRIMMING EYEBROwSSlowly move detailer to neatly trim stray hairs. For precise, even trimming,slowly move the ear/nose trimmer closer or farther away from eyebrows toachieve desired length. Do not press against brow as it may remove toomuch hair.You may also use your trimmer blade with the #2 or #3 guide combs.Move the trimmer with the direction of the hair flow (from the bridge of yournose to the temple). Be sure to mind your eyelashes as you trim.USING GUIDE COMBS:To attach guide combs, hold comb with the teeth up.Snap guide comb attachment firmly to the bottom ofthe trimmer blade.TRIMMER GUIDE COMBS:TRIMMING wITH GUIDE COMBS:The stubble guide has 1 bar, the medium-cut attachment has two bars andthe long-cut attachment has three bars. These attachments are ideal forblending, tapering and defining beards, as well as for achieving a “closetrim” stubble look around the face. To use the attachments, go with the hairdirection. To achieve closer looks, go against the hair direction.CLIPPER GUIDE COMBS:CUTTING HAIRThe first time you cut the hair, cut only a small amount until you becomeaccustomed to how long each guide comb leaves the hair. Always start byplacing the largest guide comb on the clipper, then use shorter combs (orsettings - if using adjustable guide combs) if a shorter length is desired.Remember, between professional haircuts, the hair grows evenly all over thehead and a light trimming at the lower neck and sides maybe all that is needed to bring back that neat, well-groomedlook.For uniform cutting, allow the clipper to cut its way throughthe hair. Do not force it through at a faster rate.1. Start by combing the hair so it falls into itsnatural direction.2. Place the largest guide comb onto yourclipper and start by trimming the sides fromthe bottom upwards. Hold the clipper lightlyagainst the hair, with teeth of the guide combpointing up but flat against the head. Slowlylift the clipper up and outward through thehair, cutting only a small amount at a time.Repeat around sides and back of head.If you desire shorter hair, either change to a shorter guidecomb (or setting - if using adjustable guide combs) or apply more pressureand less lift away from head with the present attachment.This entire procedure requires practice, and it is always better to leave toomuch hair the first few haircuts.For the top of the head, you will give a fairly short cut if you use the 1”guide comb (If your kit includes the 1-1/4” or 1-1/2” guide comb, youmay use this for a slightly longer cut.) With the teeth flat against the head,slowly start trimming from the front to the back. Again, it is better to leavethe hair longer the first few haircuts.locked solidly into the desired position before you start to trim.3. To cut the outline of your beard, remove the trimming guide.Starting under your chin and working back toward your jawboneand ears, cut the outer perimeter of yourbeard underneath the jawbone. Continue theline all the way up to the ears and hairline.4. Accentuate your beard line by using thetrimmer in a downward motion. Start at theline you’ve created and, working from thechin back toward the ears, trim the area right under your beard line.5. Define the upper part of your beard using the same technique.DETAILING NECKLINES, SIDEBURNS, MUSTACHES& BEARDS using trimmer head.Slowly move trimmer downward on desired areas to neatly trim and shape.TRIMMING ARM & LEG HAIR using trimmer head.Simply glide the trimmer over your arm or leg until desired hair length isachieved. The first time you trim the hair, start by using a longer setting onthe guide comb on the trimmer, then use progressively shorter settings if ashorter length is preferred.TRIMMING CHEST & STOMACH using trimmerhead.Glide the trimmer over your torso region, in an upward motion until desiredhair length is achieved. For tight, scratch-free trimming, use the #1 guidecomb.TRIMMING NOSE HAIRMake sure the nasal passages are clean. Slowly move the ear/nose trimmerin and out of each nostril, no more than 1/4-inch deep.TRIMMING EAR HAIRMake sure the outer areas of the ears do not contain any wax. Hold the earflat with one hand and carefully insert ear/nose trimmer no more than 1/4-inch into the outer ear.CAUTION: Do not insert the detailer or any other foreign object intothe inner ear. For hair growing on the outside of the ear, simply move thedetailer slowly along the edges of the ear.IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDSWhen using your electrical appliance, basicprecautions should always be followed,including the following:READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFEGUARDSBEFORE USING THIS TRIMMER.DANGERTo reduce the risk of death or injury byelectric shock:1. TheLithium Ion Trimmer also has quick charge capability.12.Insert only recharging transformer plug supplied by themanufacturer into charger receptacle.TROUBLESHOOTING• If the LED did not flash before the trimmer stopped running tryresetting the trimmer by charging the trimmer completely until theLED shuts OFF.• Trimming is disabled when charging or if the disabling plug isinserted into the jack.• If the trimmer is fully charged the LED may remain OFF if pluggedinto the charger.• If the trimmer unexpectedly stopped operating try resetting thedevice by plugging the trimmer into the charger.• If your Trimmer does not seem to take a charge, check the followingbefore returning it for repair:1. Check outlet to make sure it is working by plugging in anotherappliance.2. Make sure the outlet simply is not connected to a light switchwhich turns the power at the outlet off when lights are turned off.3. It shouldnot be disassembled.
