The cas-cade allows the user to cover a significantportion of a building(s) without the needsfor radio repeaters or large scale broadcastantennas. The use of MultiCast also allowsfacilities to expand their reach in very shortorder just by adding a new transmitter tothe area that they want covered.How to setup the multicastTo setup up the multicast, be sure that youhave the following information.· Static IP for each transmitter· Allow port 4000· Ethernet port on each transmitter· Gateway IP· Subnet MaskTo enter Programming ModeThe ISTATION contains 12 different menus.Some of the menus are not used in the Mul-ticast application. To go to Network pro-gramming menu, follow the procedure be-low.1. Press the “SETUP” button.2. Enter the Network password1173 followed by “enter”.3. When the password is accepted,the display will show “use * to scroll tomenu options”.4. Use the “*/ Menu” key to scrollthrough the different menu options.5. Press “CANCEL” to exit the system pro-gramming menu.Default values are italicizedMenu 1 Repeater – OFFNot used in MulticastMenu 2 Duplicate Message Suppression – 0Not used in MulticastMenu 3 Repeat Delay - 0Not used in MulticastMenu 4 Set RX - OFF Not used in MulticastMenu 5 Set TX - EnabledThis is the transmitter RF power.Be sure that this is enabled.Menu 6 Set Multicast - ONMenu 7 Set IP Address - 192.168.1.10Assigned IP for the first HME de-vice. Each transmitter should haveits own IP address.Menu 8 Set Listen Port - 4000Menu 9 Gateway IP - 192.168.1.1Location Network gateway IPMenu 10 Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0Menu 11 POS IP Address – 192.168.1.11Assigned the next IP for the HMEdevice in the cascade.Menu 12 Set Gateway Port - 2370*NOTE: Multicast requires static IP addressesfor each transmitter. The Network addresseslisted above are examples. Your local IT expertwill determine the values for your unique in-stallation. After messageis sent, it is cascaded to the next IP address set up in its menu. The cycle repeats untilthe original message is returned to the originating the page to close the loop. Transmitterscan be anywhere on the network as long as they can be assigned a static IP address. |
