Please refer to either of these twoInstallation instruction sheets for additional information onpowering and wiring to the TPT650 or TPT1040 TouchScreens.These retrofit clips have been designed for 1/2” or 5/8” thickSheetrock walls.InstallationInstallation of Vantage products should be performed orsupervised by a Certified Vantage Installer. Please study theseinstructions before installingIf installing TPT TouchScreens using Vantage’s retrofit clips, itmay be necessary to order additional parts. A completeinstallation will also need a power supply and possibly AVconnectors. Additional Vantage part numbers are listed herefor your reference.1. TPT650 power supply part number: VFA-00052. TPT1040 power supply part number: VFA-00073. (optional) RJ45 TO RCA MALE AUDIO/VIDEO CABLE partnumber: VDA-01764. (optional) CABLE CONNECTOR, RJ45 TO RJ45 partnumber: VDC-0330Location/Wiring For All Installations1. The recommended mounting wall height is six inches abovethat of a typical keypad station or approximately 50” to 58”from the floor to the bottom of the TouchScreen. However,it may be installed at any height fitting your installationrequirements.2. Sheetrock cutout must match the WALL BOX WIRINGTEMPLATE for your model. If this card is not available, thecut out hole measurements for the two models are:a. TPT650 cut out hole should be exactlyi. 6.875” wide x 5.775” highii. 17.46cm wide x 14.66cm highb. TPT1040 cut out hole should be exactlyi. 10.475” wide x 8.375” highii. 26.60cm wide x 21.27cm highTIP: Paint the cut edges of the sheetrock hole to preventsheetrock dust from getting into electronics. This is particularlyadvantageous for the TPT650 which has the SD Memory Cardslot in the top of the station.3. Bend the retrofit clips at the appropriate location for 1/2” or5/8” thick sheetrock and place them in the left and rightsides of the hole. NOTE: the bent smaller section is on theoutside of the wall; the long continuous section of the clip isbehind the sheetrock.TIP: Use care when bending the clips. If repeated bendingoccurs the clips will break.4. Power supply is 1 to 1 ratio. Only connect ONE TPT650 orTPT1040 to any power supply.a. Mount the POWER SUPPLY at a remote locationb. Use 16/2 American Wire Gauge (AWG) or 18/2AWGwirei. 16/2AWG – maximum length 100ft. (30.48m)ii. 18/2AWG – maximum length 50ft. (15.24m)c. If the POWER SUPPLY cord isnot long enough, cut the“barrel” end off – about 5” fromthe end of the wire – farthestpoint away from the 12VDC POWER SUPPLY. Splice intothe end of the extended wire run at the wall box side.Splice the other end into the other side of the wire run.IMPORTANT: Keep polarity the same; notice the originalpower cord has white dashed lines on one side. Makesure your connections are to the same wire at each endof the two wire splice. The high voltage side of thePOWER SUPPLY must be connected to a reliable earthground.5. Connect the power supply and any AV cables to the back ofthe TPT TouchScreen and slide the TouchScreen into thewall.6. Using the screws provided, secure the TPT TouchScreen tothe wall – DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! |
