Peel the pads from their carrier backingand place at the four corners of the bottom of theunit.Wall: Using the template on last page of thisdocument, mark the location of the bracket screwholes on the wall. Drill 5/64" pilot holes, 3/4" deep,at each screw location and use the wood screwsprovided to attach the brackets to the wall. Forsurfaces other than wood, use hardwareappropriate for the surface (not included). With thebrackets securely attached to the wall, attach theVIP-802 to the brackets using the includedhardware. Figure 2 illustrates the bracketassembly.Rack: Following the assembly drawing, attach thetwo mounting brackets to the VIP-802 unit. Usingrack screws, mount the VIP-802 in an available 1Urack slot. Wall MountPower ConnectionsThe preferred method of powering a VIP-802 is viaa Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch meeting the802.3af specification.If the rear panel barrel connector is used for power,the preferred power supply is a Valcom VIP-324D.Make all required signal connections beforeapplying power to the unit. If powering via 802.3af,make sure all signal connections via the backpanel are made then connect the VIP-802 to theEthernet switch.If power is supplied via the barrel connector, makesure all signal connections are secure. Attach theunit to the network via the front panel RJ-45Ethernet connector. Apply power by plugging thepower supply into the VIP-802 via the barrelconnector on the rear of the VIP-802.
