UMI-B1 UL Series Inverter Appendix A Technical data131Appendix A Technical dataA.1 RatingsA.1.1 CapacityInverter sizing is based on the rated motor current and power. To achieve the ratedmotor power given in the table, the rated current of the inverter must be higher than orequal to the rated motor current. Also the rated power of the inverter must be higher thanor equal to the rated motor power. The power ratings are the same regardless of thesupply voltage within one voltage range.Note:1. The maximum allowed motor shaft power is limited to 1.5 x PN. If the limit is exceeded, motor torque and current are automatically restricted. The function protects the inputbridge of the inverter against overload.2. The ratings apply at ambient temperature of 104°F (40°C).3. It is important to check that in common DC systems the power flowing through thecommon DC connection does not exceed PN.A.1.2 DeratingThe load capacity decreases if the installation site ambient temperature exceeds 104°F(40°C), the altitude exceeds 3281ft (1000m) or the switching frequency is changed from4 kHz to 8, 12 or 15 kHz.A.1.2.1 Temperature deratingIn the temperature range 104~122°F (+40°C–+50°C), the rated output current isdecreased by 1% for every additional 1.8°F (1°C). Refer to the below list for the actualderating.Derating coefficient (%)Temperature (°F)14 32 50 68 86 104 12210080604020A.1.2.2 Altitude deratingThe device can output rated power if the installation site below 3281ft (1000m). Theoutput power decreases if the altitude exceeds 3281ft (1000m). Below is the detaileddecreasing range of the derating:
