The following chapter is an introduction on how toconnect the PA960 to a network via TCP/IP.There are several PCMCIA RF cards available on the market. These cardsprovide the PA960 with wireless communications. Currently, Unitech providesCisco 350, Agere (Lucent OEM 802.11b card) support for the PA960 with thedrivers pre-installed. By selecting a supported card for the PA960 RF communi-cation will be “plug-and-play”.RF networks look and operate similarly to Ethernet networks. The only differ-ence is that a radio transmission replaces the hard-wire connection betweenthe various nodes. This means all of your existing applications that currentlyoperate over Ethernet will also function utilizing WLAN without any specialwireless network software.
