RANGE OF MOTION – HINGE ADJUSTMENTThe brace is shipped with a 0° hinge extension stop installed.Additional extension (EXT) and flexion (FLEX) stops are included witheach brace, as well as the tools required to change the stops.When changing FLEX or EXT stops, be sure that the screws aretightened securely and that both medial and lateral hinge stops areidentical. The following EXT & FLEX stops are included:EXT: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 40°, 50°FLEX: 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°, LOCKOUTADJUSTING FLEX & EXT STOPS1. REMOVING CONDYLE PADRemove the condyle pads by detaching them from the inside ofthe hinge.2. REMOVE SCREWRemove the EXT stop screw by using the Allen wrench provided(turn counter-clockwise to remove). Remove the pre-installed 0°EXT stop.3. INSTALL STOP & REPLACE SCREWChoose the proper EXT or FLEX stop and screw into place asillustrated below. NOTE: The FLEX stop must be inserted betweenthe hinge plates.IMPORTANT: Replace the medial and lateral hinge with the samedegree EXT or FLEX stops. Do not over-tighten screws.4. NOTE: A Lockout Stop is included and can be used in combinationwith the 0° EXT Stop to immobilize the knee.BRACE CARELiners and pads must be removed and cleaned regularly dependingupon your activity level and perspiration.All liners and pads are held in place by hook fasteners and can easilybe removed from the frames, hinges and straps. Wipe or HAND WASHwith a MILD anti-bacterial soap, rinse well, then AIR DRY. Replace andposition properly by pressing firmly against the fasteners.CLEANING HINGESThe hinges on your brace are pre-lubricated. If sand, dirt or water getsinside the hinges, they may require cleaning and lubrication. Removethe condyle pad, open the hinge screws with the provided Allenwrench, and clean the hinge thoroughly and re-lubricate with anycommon synthetic lubricant (grease) from a hardware store. Checkthat the hinge is gliding smoothly and reassemble.PARTS, SERVICE, & WARRANTYStraps, liners and other comfort pads may need to be replaced due tonormal wear and tear. If your brace requires replacement parts, youshould contact the professional who assisted you in ordering andfitting the brace.Under normal use and conditions, the frames and hinges on yourbrace are covered by a one year warranty against defects incraftsmanship and breaking. When changing EXT or FLEX stops, be sure that thestops are fully inserted into the hinge and that both medial and lateralhinge stops are identical. Identical EXT and FLEX stops may be usedsimultaneously for knee immobilization.EXT: 00, 100, 200, 300 | FLEX: 00, 100, 200, 300, 450, 600, 900ADJUSTING FLEX AND EXT STOPS1. INSTALLING STOPSEach stop is labeled with an E (EXT) or F (FLEX) and the degree ofcontrol provided. Insert the desired stop into the appropriate side ofthe hinge with the degree numbers facing up. EXT stops go on theanterior side (front) and FLEX stops go on the posterior side (back)of the hinge. NOTE: When installing identical EXT and FLEX stopsfor immobilization, always install the FLEX stops on both hinges beforeinstalling the EXT stops.2. REMOVING STOPSInsert the tool or a ballpoint pen into the opening of the hinge. Whilekeeping moderate pressure, remove the stop with an outward pryingmotion. NOTE: When removing EXT and FLEX stops that were used forimmobilization, always remove the EXT stops before removing theFLEX stops.IMPORTANT: Do not bend the EXT or FLEX stops open as this cancause them to become unusable.Liners and pads must be removed and cleaned regularly dependingupon your activity level and perspiration. All liners and pads are heldin place by hook fasteners and can easily be removed from the frames,hinges and straps. Wipe or HAND WASH with a MILD anti-bacterialsoap, rinse well, then AIR DRY. Replace and position properly bypressing firmly against the fasteners.Lubricating the hinges is not necessary. If the hinges become difficult tomove or do not function properly, they may need to be repaired. This isa covered warranty within the specified time frame.PARTS, SERVICE AND WARRANTYStraps, liners and other comfort pads may need to be replaced due tonormal wear and tear. If your brace requires replacement parts, youshould contact the professional who assisted you in ordering and fittingthe brace.Under normal use and conditions, the frames and hinges on your braceare covered by a one year warranty against defects in craftsmanshipand breaking. Straps, liners and other comfort pads are backed by a sixmonth warranty.NOTE: When installing identical EXT and FLEX stops for immobilization,always install the FLEX stops on both hinges before installing the EXTstops.
