Do not use solvent-based orabrasive cleaners. Use a soft sponge and rinse withclean water. Wipe with a soft, clean towel to preventwater spotting.• Clean any glass surfaces with a non-chlorine glasscleaner.Stainless Models:• Stainless door panels, handles and frames can discolorwhen exposed to chlorine gas, pool chemicals, saltwater or cleaners with bleach.• Keep your stainless unit looking new by cleaning witha good quality all-in-one stainless steel cleaner/polishon a monthly basis. For best results use Claire® StainlessSteel Polish and Cleaner, which can be purchased fromU-Line Corporation (P/N 173348). Comparable productsare acceptable. Frequent cleaning will remove surfacecontamination that could lead to rust. Someinstallations may require cleaning on a weekly basis.• Do not clean with steel wool pads.• Do not use stainless steel cleaners/polishes onany glass surfaces.• Clean any glass surfaces with a non-chlorine glasscleaner.• Do not use cleaners that are not specificallyintended for stainless steel on stainless surfaces(this includes glass, tile and counter cleaners).• If any surface discoloring or rusting appears, clean itquickly with Bon-Ami ® or Barkeepers Friend Cleanser®and a non-abrasive cloth. Always clean in the directionof the grain. Always finish this process with ClaireStainless Steel Polish and Cleaner or comparableproduct to prevent further problems.• Using abrasive pads such as Scotchbrite™ willcause the graining in the stainless to becomeblurred.• Rust that is not cleaned up promptly can penetrate intothe surface of the stainless steel and complete removalof the rust may not be possible.Interior Cleaning (As Required)• Disconnect power to the unit. Clean the interior and allremoved components using a mild non-abrasivedetergent and warm water solution applied with a softsponge or non-abrasive cloth. Rinse the interior using asoft sponge and clean water.• Do not use any solvent-based or abrasivecleaners. These types of cleaners may transmittaste to the interior products and damage ordiscolor the interior.MaintenanceProper maintenance of your U-Line product will ensureefficiency, top performance and long life. Themaintenance intervals listed are based on normalconditions. You may want to shorten the intervals if youhave pets or other special considerations.DefrostingAutomatic (Cycle) Defrost ModelsAutomatic defrost models do not produce frost in normaloperating conditions. However, a frost pattern may benoticed on the interior walls if the unit is repeatedlyopened in a high heat or high humidity location. If thisfrost pattern does not clear within 24 hours, your unit willrequire manual defrosting.WARNINGDO NOT use any type of electrical heating device,ice pick, knife or other sharp instrument todefrost; this could damage the inner lining orrefrigeration system and void the warranty.IMPORTANTIMPORTANTThe drain pan was not designed to capture thewater created when manually defrosting.
