TIC-LF502AIntroductionThe LF502 electromagnetic flowmeter uses Faraday’sLaw of electromagnetic induction in the same way asconventional electromagnetic flowmeters to measurethe flow rate. Position of electrodes in the LF502 is sodesigned that it can be used even in a partially-filledpipe to measure the flow rate.Improved functional magnetic field distributiontechnique enables a high-precision flow measurementcontinually from low-level to fully-filled flowconditions. This eliminates unnecessary piping worksuch as lifting the downstream pipe section to fill thedetector pipe.Compared with flowmeters measuring the flow rate bymeans of flow level, the obstruction less LF502flowmeter does not usually allow mud, sands and othersolid sediment stay at the bottom of the detector pipeand is unaffected by wave or floating solids on the fluidsurface.The AF900 hand-held terminal (HART* 1communicator) can be used to communicate with theflowmeter from a remote place.*1: HART protocol (Highway Addressable RemoteTransducer) is a communication protocol for industrialsensors recommended by the HCF (HARTCommunication Foundation).Detector Signal cableConverterExcitation cableDigital I/OPower supply4-20 mAdcFigure 1.
