3 Tests and Diagnostics 3.4 System Test3-10 Satellite A20 Maintenance Manual (960-444)3.4 System TestTo execute the System Test select 1 from the DIAGNOSTIC TEST MENU, press Enter andfollow the directions on the screen. Move the highlight bar to the subtest you want to execute andpress Enter.Subtest 01 ROM ChecksumThis subtest executes a checksum test of the BIOS ROM on the System Board.Subtest 02 Thermister CheckThis subtest reads the status (normal/open/short) of the [Thermister connect check]of the PS micon. When it is not normal, an error message is displayed. When it isnormal, the display returns to the main menu.Subtest 04 CPU Fan On/OffThis subtest checks CPU fan operation using the on/off command. The followingmessage will appear when this subtest is executed. Make sure the fan does notrotate and press Enter.Test CPU Fan Revolution 0000RPM StartThe following message will appear. Make sure the fan rotates at high speed andpress Enter.Test CPU Fan Revolution LEVEL 5 speed startSubtest 05 2nd Fan On/OffThis subtest checks 2nd fan operation using the on/off command. The followingmessage will appear when this subtest is executed. Make sure the fan does notrotate and press Enter.Test 2nd Fan Revolution 0000RPM StartThe following message will appear.
