33Chapter 6: Using the Monitor’s featuresAdjusting the audioMuting the soundPress W to partially reduce (1/2 MUTE) or turn off (MUTE)the sound. Each time you press W, the mute mode will changein the following order:If the closed caption mode is set to Off when you select“MUTE” mode, the closed caption feature is automaticallyactivated. To mute the audio without automatically activatingthe closed caption feature, use Z to set the volume to 0. See“Using the closed caption mode” on page 32 for moreinformation on closed caption modes.Adjusting the audio qualityYou can adjust the audio quality by adjusting the bass, treble,and balance.To adjust the audio quality:1 Press Y and open the Audio menu.2 Press b or B to highlight the item you want to adjust(Bass, Treble, or Balance).3 Press C or c to adjust the level.• C makes the bass or treble weaker or increases thebalance in the left channel.• c makes the bass or treble stronger or increases thebalance in the right channel.Using the SRS WOW ™ surround soundfeatureWOW ™ is a special combination of SRS Labs audiotechnologies (SRS 3D, FOCUS, and TruBass) that creates athrilling surround sound experience with deep, rich bass fromstereo sound sources.
