21Preparing the remote control foruseThe remote control can operate your LCD TV /DVD combination and control the basic functionsof connected audio/video devices if you connecta REGZA-LINK® compatible audio receiver orplayback device ( page 50).Installing the remote controlbatteries1¤ Open the battery lid at the bottom ofremote controller.Push!2¤ Insert the batteries, corresponding tothe (+) and (-) markings on the batterycompartment.3¤ Reattach the battery cover.Caution: Batteries must not be exposedto excessive heat such as sunshine, fire orthe like.Note:• Be sure to use AAA size batteries.• Dispose of batteries in a designated disposalarea.• Batteries should always be disposed of withthe environment in mind. Always dispose ofbatteries in accordance with applicable lawsand regulations.• If the remote control does not operatecorrectly, or if the operating range becomesreduced, replace batteries with new ones.• When necessary to replace batteries in theremote control, always replace both batterieswith new ones. Never mix battery types or usenew and used batteries in combination.• Always remove batteries from the remotecontrol if they are dead or if the remotecontrol is not to be used for an extendedperiod of time.
