TroubleshootingProblem Possible Cause Corrective Action1. The air filter for Model 68036 is placedbackwards in the air-filter cover.1. Switch the orientation of the air filter inthe air-filter cover.2. The engine on/off switch is in the stopposition.2. Move the switch to the run position.3. The choke is open. 3. Close the choke when starting a coldengine.4. The fuel tank is empty. 4. Fill the tank with fresh fuel.5. The spark-plug wire is loose ordisconnected.5. Connect the spark-plug wire.The engine does not start.6. The spark plug is fouled or improperlygapped.6. Correct the electrode gap or replacethe spark plug.1. The choke is closed. 1. Open the choke.2. The air filter is clogged. 2. Clean or replace the air filter.3. There is water or contaminants in thefuel.3. Drain and fill the tank with fresh fuel.The engine runs rough.4.
