Testing the Dyna-ClutchLeverTesting the Dyna-Clutch OperationEnsure that the area is clear of any debris orbystanders before beginning the testing procedures.1. Start the trowel, engage the Dyna-Clutch lever,and run the machine for a few moments.2. Move the Dyna-Clutch lever to the Stop position.3. Watch the blades for any sign of continuedrotation.If the blades do not stop, there is too muchtension on the cable and spring. Shut off theengine and decrease the amount of tensionto allow the Dyna-Clutch lever to disengagecompletely.Ensure that there is still enough tension on the cableand spring to prevent parts from coming unhookedduring operation. If the tendency for the blades torotate when the Dyna-Clutch lever is disengagedcannot be adjusted out of the system without taking alltension off of the cable and spring, carefully inspectthe drive belt and Dyna-Clutch lever system for wearor damage. Ensure that all parts are operating freely.If the Dyna-Clutch lever does not stop the blades, seean Authorized Service Dealer.Testing the Dyna-Clutch LeverAdjustmentImportant: Ensure that the testing of theDyna-Clutch lever is done is a clear and open area.Important: Clear the test area of bystanders.1. Move the Dyna-Clutch lever to the STOP position;refer to Dyna-Clutch Lever (page 8).2. Start the trowel.3. Hold onto the handle and engage theDyna-Clutch lever; refer to Dyna-Clutch Lever(page 8).5. Let go of the handle.The Dyna-Clutch lever should switch to theSTOP position within 1 rotation. If it does not,keep clear of the area and wait for the machineto run out of fuel.Note: If the Dyna-Clutch does not stop themachine within 1 rotation, adjust the Dyna-Clutchor bring the machine to an authorized servicelocation; refer to Adjusting the Dyna-Clutch(page 20).6. Move the Dyna-Clutch lever to the STOP position.Adjusting the BladesAdjust the blades to remove excessive shaking of themachine.1. Disconnect the spark plug wire and move theDyna-Clutch lever to the STOP position.2. Place 3 or 4 blocks of equal height under thestationary blade guard (outer ring) to raise theblades off of the floor.Note: Ensure that the blocks are clear of theblades so that the blades can be rotated withouttouching the blocks.23
