Position the machine on a clean, level surface,lower the cutting units, stop the engine, engagethe parking brake, and remove the ignition key.2. Remove the reel motors from the cutting unitsand disconnect and remove the cutting unitsfrom the lift arms.3. Connect the backlapping machine to the cuttingunit by inserting a piece of 3/8 inch square stockinto the splined coupling in the end of the cuttingunit.Note: Additional instructions and procedureson Backlapping are available in your tractionunit Operator’s Manual and the Toro SharpeningReel and Rotary Mowers Manual, Form Number80-300PT.Note: For a better cutting edge, run a fileacross the front face of the bedknife and reelwhen the lapping operation is completed. Thiswill remove any burrs or rough edges that mayhave built up on the cutting edge.17
