Park the machine so that the drain side is slightlylower than the opposite side to assure the oil drainscompletely.1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers tothe neutral locked position and set the parking brake.2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for allmoving parts to stop before leaving the operatingposition.3. Place a pan below the oil drain. When the oil has drained completely, close the drainvalve.Note: Dispose of the used oil at a certified recyclingcenter.5. Slowly pour approximately 80% of the specified oilinto the filler cap (Fig. 41). Refer to Servicing theEngine Oil, page 34.6. Check the oil level; refer to Checking the Oil Level,page 34.7. Slowly add additional oil to bring it to the full mark.Change the Oil FilterReplace the oil filter every 200 hours or every other oilchange.Note: Change the oil filter more frequently whenoperating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.1. Drain the oil from the engine; refer toChanging/Draining Oil, page 35.2. Remove the old filter and wipe the filter adapter(Fig. 43) gasket surface.3. Pour new oil of the proper type in through the centerhole. Stop pouring when the oil reaches the bottom ofthe threads. Allow a minute or two for the oil to beabsorbed by filter material.4. Install the replacement oil filter to the filter adapter.Turn the oil filter clockwise until the rubber gasketcontacts the filter adapter, then tighten the filter anadditional 1/2 turn (Fig. 43).6. Fill the crankcase with the proper type of new oil;refer to Changing the Oil, page 35.
