Remove the tie straps that secure the control rods tothe handle.2. Remove the axle pins from both wheels (Fig. 2) andslide the wheels outward on the axle approximatelyone inch (2.5 cm).653Figure 21. Hold the handles in the installation position and insertthe traction rod through the loop in the lower tractionrod (Fig. 7).IMPORTANT: Ensure that the chute control rodassembly is between the engine and the traction rod(Fig. 3).m-4038Figure 31. Position the left handle against the left side of thesnowthrower, align the handle mount holes with theholes in the side plate, and secure the handle with twocapscrews and curved washers until finger tight(Fig. 2).Note: The concave side of the curved washer goes againstthe outside of the handle.5. Position the right handle against the right side of thesnowthrower, align the handle mount holes with theholes in the side plate, and secure the handle with twocapscrews and curved washers until finger tight.6. Slide the wheels inward and install the axle pinthrough the holes in the wheel hub and through theinner hole of the axle (Fig. 4).
