261Figure 271. Electronic controller lightWhen the controller diagnostic light blinks, one of thefollowing outputs has been detected in the controller:• One of the outputs has been shorted.• One of the outputs is open circuited.Using the diagnostic display, determine which output ismalfunctioning; refer to Checking the Interlock Switches, page 26.If the diagnostic light is not illuminated when the keyswitch is in the ON position, this indicates that theelectronic controller is not operating. Possible causes are:• Loopback is not connected.• Fuses are blown.• The light is burned out.• Not functioning correctly.• Fusible links are blown.Check electrical connections, input fuses and diagnosticlight bulb to determine malfunction. Make sure loopbackconnector is secured to wire harness connector.Note: If the diagnostic light flashes during normaloperation of the machine, do not turn off the machine, toggle to the output and touch any switch. The LED willflash indicating the source of the failure.Diagnostic ACE DisplayThe machine is equipped with an electronic controllerwhich controls most machine functions. The controllerdetermines what function is required for various inputswitches (i.e. seat switch, key switch, etc.) and turns on theoutputs to actuate solenoids or relays for the requestedmachine function. For the electronic controller to control the machine asdesired, each of the input switches, output solenoids andrelays must be connected and functioning properly. The Diagnostic ACE display is a tool to help the user verifycorrect electrical functions of the machine.Checking the InterlockSwitchesIf safety interlock switches are disconnected ordamaged the machine could operate unexpectedly, causing personal injury.• Do not tamper with the interlock switches.• Check the operation of the interlock switchesdaily and replace any damaged switches beforeoperating the machine.• Replace switches every two years regardless ofwhether they are operating properly or not.CautionThe purpose of the interlock switches are to prevent theengine from cranking or starting unless the traction pedal isin NEUTRAL, to ensure cutting units disengage whenraised or when operator leaves the seat. In addition, theengine will stop when the traction pedal is depressed withoperator off the seat.Verifying Interlock Switch Function1. Park machine on a level surface, lower the cutting units, stop the engine and engage the parking brake.2. Open control panel cover. Locate wire harness andconnectors near controller. Carefully unplug loop backconnector from harness connector (Fig. 28).1Figure 281. Wire harness and connectors
