If you store the machine ina location where temperatures are extremely high, the batterywill run down more rapidly than if the machine is stored ina location where temperatures are cool.Keep the top of the battery clean by washing it periodicallywith a brush dipped in ammonia or bicarbonate of sodasolution. Flush the top surface with water after cleaning it.Do not remove the fill caps while cleaning the battery.The battery cables must be tight on the terminals to providegood electrical contact.If corrosion occurs at the terminals, disconnect the cables,negative (-) cable first, and scrape the clamps and terminalsseparately. Reconnect the cables, positive (+) cable first, andcoat the terminals with petroleum jelly.WARNINGBattery terminals or metal tools could short againstmetal machine components causing sparks.
