Step1Preparing the PlowNo Parts RequiredProcedure1. With the plow attached to a traction unit, stopthe traction unit and stop the engine.2. Move the auxiliary hydraulics lever back andforth a few times to relieve hydraulic pressurein the plow, then disconnect the plow hydrauliccouplers from the traction unit.Hydraulic fluid escaping under pressurecan penetrate skin and cause injury.Fluid injected into the skin must besurgically removed within a few hours bya doctor familiar with this form of injuryor gangrene may result.• Keep your body and hands away frompin hole leaks or nozzles that ejecthigh pressure hydraulic fluid.• Use cardboard or paper to findhydraulic leaks; never use your hands.3. Disconnect the plow from the traction unit.4. Remove and save the male and female quickcouplers from the ends of the plow hoses.Discard the adaptor between the couplers andthe hoses (Figure 1).Figure 11. Male quick coupler 3. Adaptor (discard)2. Female quick coupler5. Place a drain pan under the hydraulic motoron the plow.6. Disconnect the hoses from the elbow fittingson the motor.7. Remove the elbow fittings from the motor anddiscard them.8. Remove the fasteners securing the hose clampto the plow frame, and remove and discard thefasteners, clamps, and hoses.Step2Installing the Flow ValveParts needed for this step:1 Valve plate2 Bolt (5/16 x 1-1/4 inches)3 Bolt (5/16 x 3-1/2 inches)- Thread locking compound (not supplied)5 Flange-head nut1 Lock washer1 Flow valve1 Clamp plateProcedure1. Place thread locking compound on the threadsof the 2 bolts (5/16 x 1-1/4 inches), and use2 flange-head nuts to secure the valve plate2
