OperationNote: The procedures in this section show amachine with a plastic cargo bed and bucket seat;for additional procedures for other attachments,refer to the Operation section (if applicable) in theInstallation Instructions. Visit www.Toro.com for yourinstructions or scan the QR code (if applicable) onyour attachment.Note: Determine the left and right sides of themachine from the normal operating position.Before OperationBefore Operation SafetyGeneral Safety• Never allow children or people who are not trainedor physically capable to safely operate or servicethe machine. Local regulations may restrict theage of the operator. The owner is responsible fortraining all operators and mechanics.• Become familiar with the safe operation of theequipment, operator controls, and safety signs.• Shut off the engine, remove the key, and waitfor all movement to stop before you leave theoperator’s position. Allow the machine to coolbefore adjusting, servicing, cleaning, or storing it.• Know how to stop and shut off the machine quickly.• Ensure that there are not more occupants (you andyour passenger(s)) than the number of handholdsequipped on the machine.• Check that all safety devices and decals are inplace. Repair or replace all safety devices andreplace all illegible or missing decals. Do notoperate the machine unless they are present andfunctioning properly.Fuel Safety• Use extreme care in handling fuel. It is flammableand its vapors are explosive.• Extinguish all cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and othersources of ignition.• Use only an approved fuel container.• Do not remove the fuel cap or fill the fuel tankwhile the engine is running or hot.• Do not add or drain fuel in an enclosed space.• Do not store the machine or fuel container wherethere is an open flame, spark, or pilot light, suchas on a water heater or other appliance.• If you spill fuel, do not attempt to start the engine;avoid creating any source of ignition until the fuelvapors have dissipated.Performing DailyMaintenanceService Interval: Before each use or dailyBefore starting the machine each day, perform theEach Use/Daily procedures listed in Maintenance(page 24).Checking the Tire PressureService Interval: Before each use or dailyFront and rear tires air pressure specification: 165to 207 kPa (24 to 30 psi)Important: Do not exceed the maximum airpressure indicated on the sidewall of the tire.Note: The air pressure needed in the tires isdetermined by the payload that you intend to carry.1. Check the air pressure in the tires.• Use lower air pressure in the tires for lighterpayloads, for less soil compaction, for asmoother ride, and to minimize tire marks onthe ground.• Use higher air pressure in the tires forcarrying heavier payloads at higher speeds.2.
