17OperationNote: Determine the left and right sides of the machinefrom the normal operating position.ControlsThrottle Control (Fig. 20)Located on the rear right side of the control panel. Thelever connects to and operates the throttle linkage to thecarburetor. The engine speed can be varied from 1600 to3600 RPM.Traction Drive Lever (Fig. 20)Located on the front right side of the control panel. Thelever has two positions: Neutral and Forward. Operator presence control(optional)Service/Park Brake (Fig. 20)Located on the left front side of the control panel. Thebrake can be used to slow or stop the machine. The brakecan also be used as a parking brake. Pulling the lever backover center will set the parking brake. The brake must bereleased before the traction drive is engaged.Operator Presence Control (Optional)(Fig. 20)Located on the rear of the handle. Push the operatorpresence control against the handle. The operator presencecontrol must be engaged before moving the traction drivelever or the engine will stop.Reel Drive Lever (Fig. 21)Located on the right front corner of the machine. The leverhas two positions: Engage and Disengage. Pull up on thelever to engage the reel or push it down to disengage thereel.1Figure 211. After the engine startsmove the lever to the Run position.Fuel Shut-off Valve (Fig. 22)Located on the left front of the engine. The valve has twopositions: Closed and Open. Move the lever to the Closedposition when storing or transporting the machine. Openthe valve before starting the engine.
