Position the machine on a level surface, lower thecutting units, stop the engine, engage the parking brakeand remove the key from the ignition.2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.3. Disconnect the seat switch wire from the harness atthe rear of the control arm.4. Remove the (2) adjusting bolts securing the controlarm to seat mount (Figure 1). Carefully set the controlarm aside.Note: Make sure not to damage the wire harness orthe throttle cable.1g0260492Figure 11. Control arm adjusting bolts(2)2. Control arm access panel5. Remove the (4) nuts securing the seat adjusters and themanual tube clamps to the seat suspension (Figure 2).Also, remove the (4) washers between the seat adjustersand seat suspension. Carefully set the seat assemblyaside.6. Remove the (4) bolts, spacers and nuts securing thelower seat brackets to the seat base (Figure 2). Removethe seat suspension and seat brackets from the seatbase. Use caution not to misplace the spacers duringremoval.7. Remove the (4) bolts securing the seat suspension tothe lower seat brackets (Figure 2). Retain the bolts andbrackets for reuse.Note: When assembling the seat components, use thefront mounting holes in the seat and the rear mountingholes in the suspension.8.
